Description
The Talkeenta Mountains are in their own right one of Alaska's most rugged mountain ranges. Several active faults keep the southwestern part of the mountain range very active, which is the cause for the boulder fields and freshly exposed granite seen in this photo. This is one of my favorite playgrounds, located just hour north east of Anchorage.
